CENTRO CULTURAL AQ’AMAMA

We offer a Regular workshop twice a day Monday to Friday and a Special workshop is available on Saturday afternoon. Check out our Young Archaeologist workshop availble from Monday to Saturday for persons under 12 years.

REGULAR WORKSHOP

Our regular workshop focuses on ceramic vessels primarily from the Inca, Moche, Chimu, Chancay cultures.

Monday – Friday     10.00 – 13.00     16.00 – 19.00

WORKSHOP INCLUDES:-

  • Short presentation on Peruvian cultures
  • Cleaning and registry of ceramic artifacts
  • Exhibition of rare items
  • Certificate of completion

All workshops are carried out in the presence of qualified archaeologists. Maximum 10 adults per workshop.

No experience is necessary and all materials are provided. Photographs permitted.

Meeting point at Ovalo Pachacutec, 15 minutes before start of workshop. This is a short taxi ride from the centre of Cusco.

Our Special workshop on Saturday afternoons focuses on a different theme to our regular workshops during the week.

Quipus Keros Weapons
Special workshop

Saturday             16.00 – 19.00

 Special workshop themes:

Quipus  – A system of knotted chords used by south American cultures to record data.

Keros – Ancient Andean drinking vessels.

Weapons – Projectiles, slings, and clubs.

WORKSHOP INCLUDES:-

  • Short presentation on Special Workshop theme
  • Cleaning and registry of artifacts
  • Exhibitition of rare items
  • Certificate of completion

YOUNG ARCHAEOLOGIST WORKSHOP (Under 12 years)

The Young Archaeologist workshop is available to persons under 12 years old who are accompanied by an adult attending the Regular or Special workshop.

The Young Archaeologist workshop is conducted in the same area and at the same time as the Regular and Special workshops.

Monday – Friday              10.00 – 13.00   16.00 – 19.00                                 Saturday              16.00 – 19.00

WORKSHOP INCLUDES:-

  • Short presentation
  • Identifying ceramic fragments
  • Classifying artifacts
  • Photographing and drawing artifacts
  • Exhibition of rare items
  • Certificate of completion and souvenir

All workshops are carried out in the presence of qualified archaeologists. Maximum of 6 persons under 12 per workshop.

No experience is necessary and all materials are provided. Photographs permitted.
